In addition to virgin activated carbon, we offer reactivated activated carbon for use in the food and beverage, gas and air, wastewater, potable water and chemicals markets.

Spent (waste) granular or pelletized or Powder activated carbon can be recycled by thermal reactivation, in which the spent carbon is processed through a high temperature reactivation furnace at or above 850°C. The adsorbed organics on the carbon are thermally decomposed. The resulting gases are fed through an afterburner and a treatment system to allow emission to atmosphere in accordance with most stringent environmental regulations. Recycling by thermal reactivation is an environmentally responsible disposal method that helps to reduce CO2 emissions over the activated carbon and contributes to a sustainable use of the world's resources.

As an environmentally responsible company, Xingyuan has invested in facilities that will regenerate spent activated carbon. Yantai Dinglong is the main factory of Xingyuan which only focus on the reactivation process.

With over 12000 MT of annual treatment capacity, including the ability to perform custom reactivation for potable, food and industrial grade spent carbons, Xingyuan Industry reactivation plants provide an effective option to media replacement.


For quality and safety reasons, we don't accept any used carbon until it has has been tested and approved for reactivation. To guarantee quality, all of our regenerated products are put through the same QA testing process that we use for our virgin media. You can be sure that our reactivated carbon meets all the performance levels of the original carbon and is completely safe to handle and fully effective for use.



On-site Carbon and Media Exchange

The Field Services team has all the equipment and experienced personnel you need to make your on-site carbon and media exchange quick, clean and safe. Once spent carbon or media is removed from your site, it is handled and disposed of using methods that are environmentally friendly and in full regulatory compliance. Through the use of our reactivation facilities we "close the loop" on your carbon disposal, while minimizing the costs and delays you can experience by using multiple suppliers.

Our activated carbon exchange services include:
• Professional disassembly and reassembly of the filter casing if necessary to access filter
• Dust-free removal of used carbon with our mobile suction units
• Visual inspection of the filter
• Sampling used carbon
• Refilling the filter or vessel with fresh carbon – additional dust removal
• Testing for leakage
• Transporting used carbon to our recycling facility for reactivation
• Analysis to suggest ways to optimize your process
